Student Action for a Sustainable Future
Student Action for a Sustainable Future (SASF) is an action and inquiry project for grades 5 – 8 and high school students in Saskatoon. Funded by the City of Saskatoon and Nutrien, partners include the SES, Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools, Saskatoon Public Schools, Saskatoon Light and Power, and the Sustainability Education Research Institute at the University of Saskatchewan. Supported by the partners, students from several schools develop, implement, and showcase inquiry and actions, which focus on six areas: waste, water, energy, food, transportation, and biodiversity, that reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Saskatoon and around Saskatchewan. Connect your curriculum outcomes to important sustainability goals while providing project-based work, in class or online!
Elementary school applications are closed for the 2024/25 school year.
High school applications for semester two are due February 28, 2025. The high school program provides flexible PD, and support in subjects or program areas, accommodating semester or quarter timeframes.
