Student Action for a Sustainable Future

Student Action for a Sustainable Future (SASF) is an action and inquiry project for grades 5 – 8 and high school students in Saskatoon. Funded by the City of Saskatoon and Nutrien, partners include the SES, Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools, Saskatoon Public Schools, Saskatoon Light and Power, and the Sustainability Education Research Institute at the University of Saskatchewan. Supported by the partners, students from several schools develop, implement, and showcase inquiry and actions, which focus on six areas: waste, water, energy, food, transportation, and biodiversity, that reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Saskatoon and around Saskatchewan. Connect your curriculum outcomes to important sustainability goals while providing project-based work, in class or online! 

2025/2026 SASF High School Application

The High School Application deadline is September 30, 2025 for semester one and February 27th, 2026 for semester two. 

2025/2026 SASF Elementary School Application

The Elementary School Application deadline is October 3, 2025.
