October 16, 2025 — The Saskatchewan Environmental Society is disappointed by the October 10, 2025, decision from the Court of King’s Bench to grant the Government of Saskatchewan and SaskPower’s application to strike the landmark climate lawsuit brought by several Saskatchewan citizens and Climate Justice Saskatoon.

August 12, 2025 — The Saskatchewan Environmental Society, Citizens for Public Justice, and three citizens of Saskatchewan and Manitoba have launched a legal challenge against the Government of Saskatchewan. This follows the Province’s June 18, 2025, announcement that it will keep conventional coal-fired power plants operating into the 2040s.

March 11, 2025 — The Saskatchewan Environmental Society registers its disapproval with the Government of Saskatchewan’s recent decision to backtrack on their commitment to make buildings more energy efficient under the National Building Code. Because of this regression, new Saskatchewan homes will be less energy efficient, burdening homeowners with higher operational costs and increased maintenance issues.
