Repair leaking toilets and taps
Why
A leaking toilet can waste hundreds of litres of water a day. A tap dripping once per second can waste 10,000 litres of water a year. If it’s the hot water tap that is leaking, energy is being wasted along with the water.
How
If your toilet is leaking through the flapper, fixing it is quite straight forward, and you should be able to do it yourself. Fixing a leaking tap takes a bit more know-how. If you aren’t handy, call a plumber to fix the leaks. Until you get that tap fixed, put a container under it to catch those drips, and use them to water plants.
