Use blinds to keep summer heat out and let winter heat in
Why
Year ’round, the sun can pour a lot of heat into our buildings. In the winter, that is great; let the sun in to help heat up your space. In the summer, that sun can overheat our buildings or make our air conditioning run longer.
How
In the winter, open the blinds on the sunny side of the building to let the sun in. Close the blinds when the sun isn’t shining in the window, to help reduce heat loss through the window.
In the summer instead of overheating or cranking up the air conditioning, close your blinds or curtains to keep the sun out.
