Be Idle Free
Why
For a 3 litre engine, every 10 minutes of idling wastes 300 millilitres of fuel. For every ten minutes a day you reduce your idling, you save over $9/month. Source
How
If your vehicle has been plugged in, it doesn’t need to idle at all. If it hasn’t been plugged in, idle for 30 seconds prior to driving. Your transmission and suspension will only warm up with driving. Drive gently for the first couple blocks to warm them up.
Be sure your windows are clear before driving. Parking in a garage or carport helps keep windows clear.
