Sustainable Gourmet

The Saskatchewan Environmental Society is hosting the 12th Annual Sustainable Gourmet fundraiser dinner on Saturday, September 16, 2017. The event will be held at the Marquis Culinary Centre at the University of Saskatchewan. Sustainable Gourmet is a fun evening, full of delicious food prepared by local chefs with local products. You can look forward to both live and silent auctions as well as live music from Laura Beach of Twin Voices. This annual fundraiser unites our community, a community of people who share a belief in healthy living and a sustainable future.

Sustainable Gourmet 2017 Menu

Appetizers ~ Chef Jenni:
Wild rice blini with beetroot and fennel sour cream (gluten-free)
Autumn vegetable nori rolls (vegan)
Zucchini, lemon and basil quinoa fritters

Soup ~ Chef Doug Hyndford:
Three Sisters soup (corn, beans, and squash)

Garden tomato salad

Main Courses ~ Executive Chef James McFarland, U of S Culinary Services:
Slow roasted Heritage Berkshire Pork and high-bush cranberry-port glazed pork belly,
with charred apple sauce, carrot-fennel puree, and sautéed chard

Vegetarian/Vegan Main Course Option 
Summer squash and quinoa latke with charred vegetable relish, carrot-fennel puree, and sautéed chard
